I am a vowel album ET OP LA BANG
" I Am A Vowel is the debut album from Parisian artist Nelly Larguier, whose approach to drone-pop is a fairly unusual one, to put it mildly. These pieces all start as samples of sounds sourced from stones, processed through a laptop with a few vocal fragments thrown into the bargain. It would be very easy for a record drawn from such abstract beginnings to sound alienating, but far from it, Larguier's music might be compared to the shadowy echoes of early Grouper, or in its more digitised moments the glitched soliloquies of AGF. A thoroughly peculiar and compelling little record, I Am A Vowel's debut inhabits its own neat sonic universe, and very few debuts manage to sound so singular."
